CUCFA and UAW virtual town hall

Please pre-register for this event: http://bit.ly/3UMgjAu
Dear Colleagues,
The Academic Student Employees, Postdocs, Academic Researchers, and Student Researchers plan to begin striking this coming Monday, November 14th. The Council of UC Faculty Associations (CUCFA) invites you to an informational town hall on Friday, November 11, 4-5 pm.
This event—open to Senate faculty from all 10 UC campuses—will allow Senate faculty to hear from UAW leadership and the academic student workers the union represents about UCOP’s current position, get answers to questions you might have about UAW’s contract negotiations, learn what will happen during the strike, and ask questions about our rights and responsibilities as Senate faculty members to respect the picket line.
University administrators may have sent you their spin about UCOP’s latest proposals, but resuming good faith bargaining is the only way to avert a strike that everyone knows would be extremely disruptive.
WHEN: Friday, November 11, 4-5 pm
WHERE: Zoom – Please pre-register at: http://bit.ly/3UMgjAu
If you cannot get into the Zoom meeting because it has reached its maximum capacity, please go to the YouTube live stream of the meeting at: https://www.youtube.com/ucfaculty
We hope you will come to what should be a very informative meeting.
