As part of the April 17th National Day of Action for Higher Education, the SCFA and other campus unions are organizing a cross-unit town hall to discuss the multiple attacks on research, teaching, and the academic community and how we can work together in this moment to fight for a university that meets our needs, and where all students, staff, and faculty can thrive.
We’ll gather at noon in the Merrill Cultural Center to hear from each other and to develop shared goals around two key themes: a) protecting academic & political freedom and the safety of all members of the university community and b) responding to the confluence of the UCSC budget crisis and federal cuts to research.
